Braces: Metal and White Ceramic Brackets

 

Braces are a popular Orthodontic Treatment undertaken by all age groups; Children, Teenagers, and Adults, to straighten crowded teeth and correct bite discrepancies. This can be for cosmetic purposes such as improving your smile and confidence. Braces can also be for improvement of cosmetic and functional correction such as aligning your teeth as well as correcting an increased over-jet, a deep bite, or a cross bite.

 

The brackets we use are either made from white ceramic or metal alloy; both are bonded to the surface of your teeth with white dental adhesive.

 

Metal braces today are a lot smaller and less intrusive as compared to brackets previously used, which makes the brackets less noticeable, more comfortable, and easier to clean.

 

White Ceramic brackets work the same was as Metal brackets, the difference between the two is that the Ceramic brackets blend in with the colour of your teeth.

 

The wires that run through the brackets are attached to the brackets with ligatures or elastic modules. These wires create pressure on your teeth and gently move them into the correct position. At each appointment, Dr. Bottoni will make small adjustments until your teeth are in the desired position and are nicely aligned.

 

Coloured elastic modules are usually used around the metal braces. Patients can decide to have fun and colour the brackets on their teeth. These coloured modules also look great on the white ceramic brackets. There are many colour combinations to choose from only limited by your imagination.
